There were some blustery autumn winds today and as a result the fjord waters were quite choppy. Went for a stroll down to the Ness and I figured I'd share it with you all.

So, boats getting turned over, high winds, overall dangerous conditions....what do the locals do? Stay inside? NO! Those Viking Badasses go WINDSURFING! |
|
AND boating....with the dog even!!! Crazy Nords. |

Very lovely, as always great pictures, very nice colors. These remind me a bit of Maine somehow.. Is the water warm enough to go swimming during the summer or is that never a good idea?
ReplyDeleteOh, its certainly warm enough in the summer, even when I first got here back in August there were plenty of locals out on the beach. Of course, if they sauna first, they jump in the cold fjord year-round....crazy Nords.
ReplyDeleteoh that sounds like fun!! When I was growing up in Russia we jumped into snow after a sauna. :) Us crazy Russians! LOL
ReplyDeleteSo hey, not that everyone isn't enjoying the wonderful pictures and dying of jealousy over the fact that you get to see the sights first hand, but do you know when you are coming back? Are you coming back at all?
Must be a "Northerner" thing---you cold-blooded people. =) I'm thinking right now I may be returning to the states sometime this Spring, however things are bit up in the air. Not at all sure if that means Chicagoland area again or not, since I don't have any family out there anymore, but I do have lots of friends there. I'm sure, I'll be back in DeKalb at some point, though! Too many people I love there ;)
ReplyDeleteWe all will be waiting to see you :)
ReplyDeleteI am a bit confused/uninformed. Did your family move to Europe? How did you end up over there?
Yeah! Can't wait to see you again, too!!! My Dad has lived here for almost two years now.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
